Came back to the lodge for a second trip this November and our reviews have only gotten better. Mike again went above and beyond what is expected. The weather one day was miserable so we did spend a good amount of time in the house and the amenities again were fantastic! We will be back in June!
From beginning to end Mike the owner made planning and organizing the trip easy and extremely enjoyable. After booking our trip online we had the usual questions of how do we get access to the property and how does the payment situation work. Mike was absolutely amazing in his communication from when we were looking to book answering questions all the way through when we left. Booking the property was as easy as clicking the book now button and asking Mike questions was even easier. We told him we would be renting a bass boat from up the street and he quickly informed us we would not need a truck with a tow hitch as he would reserve a dock slip at the Lake Fork Marina which is only 70 yard away from the back door just past the private stocked bass pond. Once we landed in Dallas he sent us a nice email and text message explaining the keyless entry code we would use for the entire trip and then greeted us at the property to explain the area, give us restaurant, food shopping and even fishing guide recommendations. The house is absolutely amazing, the decor is perfect for a bass fisherman and the pictures don't do it justice. Our only regret is not staying for longer! Next year we surely will be staying at least three more days. Thank you Mike for letting us stay in your beautiful property, we had a blast! See you next year!
But my wife and I surprised our son with a quick getaway to Lake Fork over Labor Day Weekend. We stayed at the Sunrise Lodge and had a great time. The fishing wasn't a home run but then again, what's the saying? "A bad day on the water is better than a good day at the office." Something like that, but you get the point. We'll hopefully have better luck the next time around.

Our stay at Sunrise Lodge was very enjoyable and relaxing. Everything you could need during your stay was available; excellent appliances, clean rooms, and plenty of games to keep you busy during your stay. I want to thank Mike for donating his lodge as a raffle prize of two night stay for my sisters Cancer benefit fund raiser. He was also very helpful with information about the surrounding area. Our first visit was a great one and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Mike and Jeanette are two of the nicest people you ever want to meet. The place is absolutely gorgeous with everything you need to feel right at home. from the decor to the scenery is amazing. private stocked pond right in the backyard about 70 yards away from the marina. Mike was very helpful with any and all questions we had regarding : boat rentals,guide rentals and food recommendations. We had a blast this past week at Sunrise Lodge and cannot wait to return in June for some more great hospitality and most importantly great fishing. Thanks Mike!!!
I didn't forget about you, Mike! :) Sorry that it's taken me so long, but obviously we came back to a little chaos here in Houston.
Regardless, everything else was right at our fingertips and we just really enjoyed getting out of the city and just soaking up the serenity and the scenery. Both of the houses are beautiful, and we did our fair share of cooking and grilling while we there...the kitchen is fully stocked with all of the necessities. And along those lines, the attention to detail throughout the entire house did not go unnoticed. You and Jeanette were very welcoming and made sure that our stay was comfortable and memorable. We really appreciate the hospitality and hope to return in the near future.
Amazing place! My wife and I completely enjoyed staying here for the Bass Champs tournament. Although, you do not need to fish to enjoy this place. It is a great weekend get-a-way for a family, a couple, or a group of friends. The layout of the lodge will accommodate all. If fishing, you have access to the private boat ramp and can walk over to the Lake Fork Marina. If not fishing, you can enjoy the views, deck, out door grill and all the amenities in the lodge - including board games, cards, nice TV, and lots of cool things to look at (fish scene, etc.). This is absolutely the best place to stay on Lake Fork!!!
